The guys I use to play games with all either retired, got married or moved out of the country..

Me? I guess I grew out of everything.. I miss the old times but knowing that they couldnt ever be what they were makes me just come back to this is more of an outsider making observations and not so thin skinned anymore..

Thanks for the insight everybody, it's nice for me to go in a thread and actually not get flamed for once...I almost feel guilty in a sense, because I feel like I am naively grouping all transgenders together and thinking they have all the same likes/dislikes. mrsagat: I actually grew up believing that people who were gay/lesbian/trans were just evil, perverted freaks. It took me a long time to accept who I was and almost as long to not see myself as an evil, perverted freak. Well, I'm not an evil freak anyway :wgrin:.

From what I understand, discomfort and fear generally stem from the unknown. I can't really suggest a way to ease your discomfort other than suggesting that you try to allow yourself to be flattered that someone's trying to put the moves on you. I mean, hey, I'd see it as a confidence boost, myself ^_~ Of course, I'm also a huge fan of exploring different perspectives :grin:

As for trans persons, we're just as different as anyone else, really. From my experience, most of us are just as boring and lame as any other person. We just have this other, really annoying thing we have to deal with. I actually don't get along very well with most of the trans persons I know. We're just too different.

The trans community (in the US anyway) also seems to greatly suffer from what I call Unicorn syndrome (for the sake of some, feel free to replace "unicorn" with "pegasus"). Since we all come from different backgrounds and we're generally at different stages in transition and we're just now getting to see that we're not the only ones with the amazing intarwebs, I find that we all have varying narratives.

Thus, the unicorn. So say you were a unicorn and you had never seen another unicorn your whole life, but one day you find yourself talking to one. First, you have to get over the disbelief that you found another unicorn. Then, you start to accept that this may be another actual unicorn that you're talking to, but they start telling you what their life as a unicorn has been like and it's totally not what yours is like. (Which would seem obvious enough, that's why you haven't run into each other until now ^_~) So the more you and the other unicorn tell the narratives of your individual lives up until this point of meeting and realize just how different you are from each other, you start to distrust that they really are a unicorn and at the same time they are distrusting that you are one as well.

The thing that makes matters even more difficult is that most unicorns just want to be regular horses (:rofl: @ unintentional, but amusing symbolism with the horn and what it takes for a unicorn to be a horse, only works for MtF, but i don't know of a bi-gender mythical creature off the top of my head :sweat:) So, when a unicorn achieves this, they typically no longer spend their time with the unicorn herd and can now spend their time with the horses. When a trans person becomes post-op, they generally leave the trans community so there are very few to none wise and experienced trans persons to help advise/council the newcomers. The few there are that do hang around should be considered saints for what they do. It's frustrating and I, personally, walked away from the growing herd of confused and bickering unicorns, but I still talk with some from time to time on a smaller, more intimate level.

That probably is true for the Philippines, but America and Thailand are pretty high-tier in their vaginoplasty. Clitoral install and everything. Transwomen out of America and Thailand can even lactate if it suits their fancy. It certainly suits mine.

With Christmas just a day or two away, I've been thinking about a friend of mine that I don't appreciate as much as I should. She's always been there to listen to me whenever I have my breakdowns, but sometimes I feel powerless to help her.

She's a MtF transgender who has a very conservative family. During the holidays, she feels that she has to go visit with her family and extended family in some rural Oklahoma area. From what I understand, she isn't "out" to them and has not told any of them what she is doing because she is afraid that they will try to hospitalize her or something. She does binding to hide her breasts and wears baggy shirts (she's thin too, so it's more difficult).

I guess what I am getting at is that I can't relate to her situation. Being afraid of persecution from relatives and whatnot. Do any of you have a similar situation or have any ideas on if there's anything I can do to help?

If she's already left to visit her family then... I guess there's not really much you can do at this point, besides being there when she wants to talk (if she can't talk with her family about things, she's going to want to talk to someone...) or throwing one hell of a party when she gets back.

I'd suggest some crazier ideas, but there are still a lot of unknown factors (how close she is to her family, if and when she ever plans on being out with her family, etc.) and I'm fairly sure none of them would work :looney:

If you really think you're in love with him, rather than just lusting, I would definitely cut off contact from him for a while. The more you see him, the worse it'll get. I sort of feel your pain in the way that I'm only attracted to older guys, and most the attractive older guys seem to be married straight men. Never went so far as to fall in love with one, though. I do. Personally, having been in a closed monogamous relationship at 22, I felt locked down because I still haven't done much of anything and, regardless of what people say, I think it would be better for me to have the freedom to get all of that stuff out of my system so that later in life when I actually have responsibilities and shit I'll at least be able to say "I've done that shit" and not care so much about it. Obviously sex isn't exclusively a romantic thing for me, so I have no problem as far as that's concerned.

As for anyone else, it really depends. For one thing, its not a great idea for people who can't tell the difference between romantic intimacy and complete lust, both social aspects that sex can cater to. On the other hand, it's a much better alternative to just straight up cheating, especially if you know you can't handle the idea of being denied fuckbuddies.

It's not for everybody, but it's not like it's straight up bad news either as long as everyone is honest about what they want, etc.
